Politifact: Paul Krugman’s “Fiscal Phony” Assessment of Chris Christie is True

Krugman in his NYT column:  “There have been some job gains in the McMansion State since Mr. Christie took office, but they have lagged gains both in the nation as a whole and in New York and Connecticut, the obvious points of comparison.”

Politifact compares statements made by Christie’s spokesman and the jobs stats, and finds the Princeton-based economist’s statements to be accurate.  Job growth is indeed lagging behind the national average.  In addition to the slow rate of growth, unemployment in NJ is at 9.1% (April, Bureau of Labor) while the national average is at 8.1%.

Heh. “McMansion State.” Methinks Paul Krugman is a Redditor.
